TNIS\u2019 vision was that all teachers would use the same digital platform to support teaching across core subjects. With a long-term focus, the school intended for EP\u2019s content and assessments to align with TNIS\u2019 progressions through the core curriculum levels. EP was quickly identified as an online platform that could readily meet these objectives.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_id=&#8221;solution&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Solution<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1707867994350{margin-bottom: 1rem !important;}&#8221;]<span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Staff were supported with training by two <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u2018champion\u2019 teachers. Rebecca Phillips was tasked <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">with leading the integration of EP into the Maths <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Department. <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Quote: \u201cI invested a significant amount of time <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">working through EP to identify and create pre- and <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">post-tests, and align the EP content with our own <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">progressions. I used the tagging functionality <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">built into EP to label assessments and tasks. For <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">example, activities related to place value were <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">tagged as \u2018Progression 1\u2019.\u201d &#8211; Rebecca Phillips <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">As a result, the teachers, and Rebecca, could <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">pull individual and whole class reports to see <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">who needed further support with particular <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">progressions. They could then organise face-to- <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">face workshops or assign further EP activities. <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u201cI like how all the class and individual reports are <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">displayed in one area, and are very visual and <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">easy to understand,\u201d Rebecca says. \u201cWe can see <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">straight away if a whole class needs support <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">with something. We empower the students too, <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">providing scaffolding as required to help them <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">understand the reports, highlighting what needs <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">work in red and orange, and where they have <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">achieved in green.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The result of Rebecca\u2019s hard work is that EP is now <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">fully integrated across TNI\u2019s maths provision. \u201cWe <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">are enjoying the ease of use, the consistency of <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">approach, that everything is marked for us, and <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">that we can easily interpret the reports. For some, that has been a real wake up call, <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">but at the same time, [students] know how they <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">can progress and they can see their growth over <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">time. EP has encouraged a real sense of ownership <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">of learning amongst the majority of the students.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Within subject areas, consistency of coverage has <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">also been realised. <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">\u201cWe all appreciate the single log in and it makes life <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">much easier for new teachers and relievers.
